Originally from Oregon, U.S., I graduated from New York’s Sarah Lawrence College in 1996 with a Bachelor’s of Liberal Arts with focuses on cultural anthropology and foreign languages.

I studied in Florence in 1994 at the Sarah Lawrence program and at the University of Florence. Ever since, I have kept a foot in each country, spending extended periods of time in both the U.S. and Italy.

I also speak (rusty) Dutch, (pretty decent) French, and (downright abominable) Spanish.
